Limit price?
The limit price is the maximum price you are willing to pay when buying and the minimum price you want to receive when selling.
Pay close attention to the decimal places: instead of by 0.01, some shares go up or down by 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20 or more. You can derive this tick size from the depth of the market by looking at how the different bid or ask prices are rounded off. To see the market depth, tilt your smartphone/order screen horizontally; you may need to unlock screen rotation in your device settings.
The tick size is determined by the exchange and depends on the liquidity band (the average number of orders for that security per day) as well as the price of the security and therefore differs per share.
